About Us
Churchdown Osteopaths can be described as a true family practice, having something to offer people of all ages, our Osteopaths treat people not conditions, and take into consideration all aspects of health in each individual.
We have a special interest in the treatment of babies and children.
Our Story
In 1978, shortly after graduating from the British School of Osteopathy, Clive and Liz married and moved to Gloucestershire. For many years, the practice was in an annexe building next to their home, allowing them to successfully balance family and work life.
In 1994, the success of the practice necessitated a move to their current premises in Chosen Drive.
Clive and Liz’s son Neil joined the practice in 2007, and in 2019 took over the business. Since then, Clive and Liz have hardly slowed down, even after 40 years in practice they continue to have a huge amount of love and passion for Osteopathy and they continue to play a full and active roll both in the practice and the wider profession.
Neil taking over the running of the business will ensure the smooth running and ethos of the business will continue for generations to come.
Teamwork
Churchdown Osteopaths currently has a team of 10 highly skilled and passionate Osteopaths. Our friendly and efficient receptionists led by Jo, ensure the smooth running of practice.
We specialise in trying to resolve difficult and challenging cases, there are times when two heads are better than one and two osteopaths may work on a patient at one time (Double appointments). These are at the discretion of the Osteopaths only and you will only be charged the normal treatment fee (the higher fee if the two osteopaths charge different rates) .
The Practice
We have a warm, welcoming and friendly environment catering for people of all ages and needs. We welcome patients with mobility issues and have disabled access to the whole ground floor, with no steps up to the front door.
On your arrival, our friendly team of receptionists will greet you and help to assist you in any way they can. You are welcome to use our free Wifi, or peruse a range of magazines whilst you wait for your appointment. We also have a selection of toys and books, both in the waiting room and treatment rooms to help keep babies and children entertained.
For mothers with babies, we try to make the environment as comfortable as possible should you wish to breastfeed your infant. If you prefer, we are usually able to make a private room available on request. We can also heat up milk on request. Changing facilities are also available.
